Google Workspace Integration for WP Project Manager — Home Page Content
Attach Google Drive files to your project tasks — without leaving WordPress.
The Google Workspace integration for WP Project Manager lets your team connect their own Google accounts and link Drive files directly to tasks. No downloads, no duplicate copies — just one click from task to file.
What it does
WP Project Manager is a project and task management plugin for WordPress. This add-on connects it to Google Drive so each team member can:
- Securely connect their own Google account via Google sign-in (OAuth 2.0).
- Browse and search their Google Drive from inside a task.
- Attach files to tasks as live references — the file stays in Drive; the task shows its name, icon, and a link.
- Open attached files in Google Drive in one click.
It is read-only: the integration never edits, moves, or deletes anything in your Drive.
Key features
One-click attach
Open any task, click Attach, search your Drive, and link the file. Done.
References, not copies
Files are never duplicated or downloaded into WordPress. Attachments point to the original in Drive, so permissions and versions stay with Google.
Per-user accounts
Every team member connects their own Google account. Each person sees and attaches only what they can access in their own Drive.
Private by design
Tokens are encrypted at rest on your own WordPress server. Your Google data never passes through our servers — the plugin talks directly to Google from your site.
Disconnect anytime
One click disconnects a Google account and removes its stored tokens, and you can revoke access from your Google Account settings at any time.
How it works
- Connect — An administrator adds the Google OAuth credentials once; each user clicks Connect Google and approves access.
- Browse — Inside a task, open the Google Drive picker and search or navigate your files.
- Attach — Select a file to link it to the task. Teammates see the attachment and can open it in Drive (subject to Google’s own sharing permissions).
Permissions we request, and why
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
Sign in (openid, email, profile) | Identify the connected Google account and show your email. |
See Google Drive files (drive.readonly) | Let you browse, search, and attach your Drive files to tasks. |
We request the minimum access needed for these features. We do not request write access to Drive.
Your data
The integration’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or transfer it to third parties.
